Usa: increase in seizures at customs

Usa: increase in seizures at customs

In Fiscal Year 2004 U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (Cbp) officials made over 7,255 seizures of incoming products that infringed U.S. intellectual property rights, an 11 percent increase over the previous year, nominally valued at $139 million.

China was the direct country of origin for 63 percent of the total; in light of transshipments, the true total would be even higher.
