Usa: slight increase in retail sales in February

The US Department of Commerce (DoC) has published the data relating to retail sales in February: 352.1 billion dollars, growth of +0.5%.

In a report published a few days ago, the Council of Shopping Centers and Ubs also confirmed the positive trend in retail sales and gave a figure of +0.6% for the week that has just ended.

The DoC pointed out that all product sectors (from hi-tech to clothing, furnishings, fashion accessories and cars) have contributed to the growth in sales.

Analysts are optimistic for March, especially in view of the trend in employment and inflation.
