Versace presents Monogramma sunglasses

On the wave of the success of the Versace Monogramma collection, the gold range is extended with a line of eyewear.

The Monogramma motif, until now only used on jacquard, encloses the heart of the Versace world with its two archetypal symbols: the mythological head of the Medusa and its stylized, geometrically laid out Greek pattern.

Versace has revamped the relief design on the hinges which join the front piece to the temples in a series of sunglasses models. It's a very wearable shape for men, but also unisex, made in black acetate with a gold-plated Monogramma detail (model 4071).

Model 4071A new version of the same model (4078) with silver or gold hinges, and another with a slightly different design, were presented at the recent Versace Men S/S 2006 fashion show. Other glasses in 'wayfarer' style (model 4079) and smaller, but still with the Monogramma hinges in silver, come in black, and ice cream shades (decidedly feminine), which go perfectly with the first Versace Cruise collection and will follow next season.

A preview of the first examples in black and gold (model 4071) can already be seen at Versace's main boutiques.
