Base Curve launches John Varvatos Eyewear Collection

Base Curve, the new independent luxury division of California-based Rem Eyewear, will debut the John Varvatos eyewear collection in Europe at Mido (Pavilion 14/I - C13) on May 5th, 2006.

John Varvatos Eyewear is based on the award-winning designer's appreciation of old-world luxury and attention to detail. The collection incorporates fashion-forward, modern silhouettes and vintage elements, such as fine filigree detailing. Each frame is hand crafted in Japan and incorporates signature temple tips and hallmarked inner logo plaques. The debut collection will consist of 36 sunglasses and optical frames available in three colors each.

On working with Base Curve, Varvatos commented, 'I chose Base Curve for the boutique feeling of their organization and their ability to focus on the Varvatos brand as well as their passion and understanding of my aesthetic'.

Base Curve President and Ceo Mike Hundert responded, 'We are thrilled to be working with a designer that shares our vision of creating truly original eyewear with artisan-quality and superior design'.

The collection will be made available to exclusive optical boutiques and upscale specialty stores in Europe beginning in June.
