Belstaff opens new store and aims at eyewear

According to an article published in L'Arena di Verona, Belstaff will soon be opening a monobrand store in Florence, and it plans to open an 80-square-meter megastore on Milan's Piazza San Babila in September.

Meanwhile, it has entered into a contract with British model Kate Moss, who will be the Belstaff testimonial for apparel, footwear and eyewear next fall-winter.

The Treviso-based clothing company is also aiming at eyewear; in addition to Belstaff, it produces Black Prince and Capalbio.

'We have one thousand eyewear outlets in Italy and 30 abroad', chairman Franco Balenotti explained to the Veneto newspaper, 'and with an income of 3 million euros registered last year, which is expected to double by end 2006, our aim is to reach 10 million in a year and a half. To attain this objective, we will be helped by the large stores to be opened soon, especially in Milan, which is now the crossroads for all fashion in Europe. However Belstaff will go further', Balenotti added. 'In 2007 new stores are planned for Paris, New York City and Rome and we will debut in cosmetics'.
