Briko and Sports Events in August

Launched in June, the newsletter: Briko and Sports is designed to inform and report to the media, opinion leaders, retail outlets and especially the extensive public of sports enthusiasts about all events, which involve Briko as either sponsor or promoter.

August witnesses Briko's special focus on events related to the 'Road and Mountain Bike' cycle.

Calendar - August 2006:

6th August: 10th Gran fondo mtb 'la vecia ferovia'.

Today mountain bike events form a long list of competitions with similar courses and difficulties.
However, some stand out for either original features or historical links.
One of these is doubtless the Vecia ferrovia dela Val di Fiemme, an exciting ride, which has attracted a large group of bikers from the Ora Resort to the gates of Bolzano and right up to Molina in luxuriant Val di Fiemme for the past nine years.
The competition organised by Polisportiva Molina in Fiemme in collaboration with Sudtirol Marathon Club is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 6 August. The Vecia ferovia combines technical features, which require remarkable standards, and highly interesting historical contents. In fact the competition's course unfolds along the tracks of the little old steam railway that linked the town of Ora in Val d'Adige with Val di Fiemme and which stopped operating in the '60s. Participants pedal for 35 km along picturesque paths and mountain trails.

For information and registration:www.la veciaferovia.it for the prize-giving Briko will supply the Organisation with Mistral and Spark helmets and Lucifer glasses.

23rd August: 9th Cycling GP nobili rubinetterie.

Organised by the Arona Cycling Association, protagonists will be the best professional racing cyclists in Europe. They will ride along the urban circuit of Arona, a delicious resort that overlooks Lake Maggiore. Damiano Cuneo was the winner of the 2004 and 2005 competitions. The event will be followed by thousands, mostly numbering cycling enthusiasts.
