Carl Zeiss Vision acquires Optoteam

Carl Zeiss Vision acquires Optoteam

Carl Zeiss Vision, one of the world's major suppliers of ophthalmic lenses, acquired Optoteam on July 1, 2006.
For many years, the Swedish company based in Trellebrog has distributed Sola Optical and American Optical products (now part of the Carl Zeiss Vision group).

In addition to distribution, Optoteam is well-known in northern Europe as the leader of the safety eyewear sector.

Bo Lindgren, the founder of Optoteam, considers the acquisition to be a fundamental step for the future and declared: 'I am pleased to transfer Optoteam to a company with which we have had a long-standing collaboration. The resources available to the Carl Zeiss Vision group will be positive for the future development of Optoteam'.

'With the acquisition of Optoteam we will strengthen our organization on the Swedish market and in other northern European countries. Optoteam's skills and know-how combined with client and partner relationships on the market adapt well to Carl Zeiss Vision's overall strategy. We expect Optoteam to become stronger in terms of market positioning and profit, thanks to the increasing opportunities for growth' added Flemming Andersen, Nordic Regional Manager at Carl ZeissVision.

Patrik Gustafsson, former Optoteam Marketing Manager and now General Manager of the company, is supported by the new Marketing Manager Jakob Ingvaldsen, who worked for some years at SOLA Nordic (now Carl Zeiss Vision) and has gained considerable experience of the Norwegian and Danish markets.
