First Giorgio Armani boutique in Saint Tropez
The first Giorgio Armani boutique in Saint Tropez was opened April 12 on 44 rue Francois Sibilli (Place de la Garonne).
On two floors covering a total of 215 square meters, the store was designed by the stylist in collaboration with an internal team of architects and is in the same style as the Giorgio Armani boutiques recently opened in Monaco, Sidney, Melbourne, Taipei, Palm Beach, Shanghai, Moscow-Luxury Village and Beirut.
The interiors are in natural cotton fabric folded horizontally onto joined panels which cover the boutique's high walls. The panels contrast with sheets of stainless steel covering the ceilings and columns. The display counters, in dark wood like the flooring, have been set up horizontally to counterbalance the vertical columns. They create an almost futuristic environment thanks to the reflections of the high walls on the steel ceilings. The effect is further emphasized by the evocative use of light and shade to create spaces that focus the attention. Hidden spotlights either aim directly at the garments and objects on display or they highlight outlines, while other versatile lighting seems to blend with the surrounding areas.
