Hoya development in South Africa

Hoya has entered into an agreement with Hill Optics, the producer and distributor of ophthalmic lenses in South Africa. It will acquire 51% of the company, which will be called Hoya Hill Optics South Africa.

The company has been the exclusive distributor for Hoya products in South Africa since 1997 and its current management team will remain in office. Hill Optics employs 250 people in three locations (Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town).
