Licefa Gmbh & Co. signs agreement with BasicNet

BasicNet S.p.A. has signed a license agreement with Licefa GmbH & Co. KG, the German group that has been operating in the optics sector since 1947, for the distribution of the Kappa and Robe di Kappa eyewear lines in continental Europe and for the production of frames for glasses.

The agreement with Licefa will run for an initial period of three years, with an option to renew for another three years, and provides for minimum guaranteed sales of 4.5 million euros for the first contractual period.

The partnership with Licefa is an important step in the development of new products with the Kappa (technical-sports apparel and accessories) and Robe di Kappa (casualwear) labels and will contribute to a further increase in the brand's renown on European markets, also through significant investments in communication addressed to end users.

'Licefa has joined our network of licensees' stated BasicNet Chief Executive Franco Spalla 'by reproducing on European scale, and for a specific product category, the business model adopted for apparel and footwear in similar partnership agreements in over 100 countries'.

The general strategy also encompasses the licensing agreements that have just been finalized and are aimed at BasicNet brand expansion in the Mexican and Egyptian markets.
