Mido: testimonials, events and new ideas

The first day of Mido was a constant flow of press conferences and presentations, with many guests visiting the stands.

In the morning, Anna Molinari visited the Visibilia stand for the Blumarine line, while the VidiVici Occhiali Bologna Basketball team stopped at the VidiVici stand, where Francesca Rettondini was posing in glasses from the Exalt Cycle Jewel & Stone line. Alberto Giliardino, the young forward on the Milan football team, paid a visit to Marchon.

Vera Santagata, Miss Cinema 2005, was seen at the L'Amy stand, while at Silhouette NASA astronaut Jim Wheterbee and NASA ophthalmologist Keith Manuel signed autographs and presented the new Titan Minimal Art Space Edition line, glasses that weigh only 1.8 grams. Beautiful and sensual Ludmilla Radchenko posed in Playboy glasses at the Espressioni di Moda stand.

There was a party atmosphere at the Intercast Europe stand, where its was officially announced that PPG had acquired the company and where the new prototypes in Nxt, made together with the European Institute of Design, were presented. At the PPG stand immediately afterward, they celebrated the 60th anniversary of the patented monomer CR39.

During the late afternoon, gorgeous Alessia Ventura and Francesca Lodo posed at the Marchon stand in some ck Calvin Klein models.

Lastly, Charmant exhibited the glasses that won the International Design Competition and awarded the winners of the first and second places, respectively: Vadim Kibardin, the Russian designer and graduate from the Ural State Academy of Architecture and Art, and Yenwen Tsegn from Taiwan.
