New Web collection debuts at Mido
Announced only a few weeks before Mido, the new Web collection, produced under license by Marcolin, was presented last night in Milan during an event at which Diego Della Valle and Luca Cordero di Montezemolo were also present.
The 2006 collection focuses on the formula of the very first Web glasses, a Thirties icon with the typical screw-attached double bridge and celluloid temples. The four models are faithful to the original spirit of Web for men and for those women who prefer a sophisticated unisex style with character, fascinating women next to a man who isn't afraid to be daring and is refined but relaxed.
The symbol, a guarantee that Web Eyewear is original, is a unique, streamlined metal element with a hinge molded to the temple and nose-piece. Inspired by airlines of the Thirties, it appears throughout the collection and is the brand's icon.
A design with fluid lines and essential details, like the Web tag on the left temple, are the brand's discreet symbol of recognition. Ergonomic lines feature a high standard of surface workmanship and emphasize the natural and refined materials, such as rich and robust celluloid, with noble sections and profiles softened by a finish that gives the glasses harmony and makes them pleasant to touch.
Unmistakable lightness and ergonomic comfort are ensured by the flex temples and the innovative design of the end-pieces and by the semi-moveable tabs so thaty they can be adjusted to suit any face shape, and the structure is designed to be extremely light.
The combination of materials like metal and celluloid is typical of Web Eyewear tradition. Colors range from black to soft, smooth shades of Havana and opal white.
