Paralympics: positive ending for Smith

The Paralympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin have just ended and Smith, the sports brand by the Safilo Group, achieved important results and stepped on the podium together with the extraordinary athletes taking part in the various disciplines.

Vicenza's Gianmaria Dal Maistro, the partially-sighted athlete in the Italian Alpine Skiing for the Disabled Team, and his coach Tommaso Balasso, won a superb gold medal in the Super-G on March 14 and a silver medal in the Giant Slalom on March 17. The two athletes wore Prodigy goggles during training and Phenom goggles during the Alpine Skiing races.

Partially-sighted Silvia Parente from Milan won a fantastic gold medal in the Giant Slalom on March 17 and three bronze medals in the Freestyle Downhill on March 12, the Super-G on March 14 and the Slalom on March 19. Silvia Parente wore Frontline sunglasses and her guide, Lorenzo Migliari, who accompanied her on the descent, wore the Theory model.
