Pollini eyewear at Mido

Pollini eyewear at Mido

The launch of the new Pollini eyewear collection, produced and distributed by the Elite Group under a six-year license agreement, will take place at Mido 2006 May 5 through 8 in Milan.

The 24 vision models are in acetate and steel and have 4 completely new and personalized color variations. New additions include some models in acetate with a special flex hinge inserted in the curved nose-piece. The collection is embellished with Swarovski crystals and has laser designs on the curved sections, a technically very difficult process.

There are 9 different frames in 3 colors for the sunglasses. Swarovksy crystals, laser designs, wraparounds and special flex side-pieces on the acetate are just some of the features. Lenses are in CR39, polycarbonate and nylon by Sola Sunlens.

The Pollini eyewear theme was inspired by the style of the Pollini collections by Rifat Ozbek: laser designs reproduce the decorations on the garments, as do the graphics on the side-pieces. Wraparounds repeat the ornamental design that appears on Pollini's accessories. Cases also evoke the patterns of fabrics used in the Pollini clothing collections.

All the sun and vision models will be on sale at leading opticians' stores, and the sun collection will also be available at Pollini's monobrand boutiques. Distribution abroad will begin with the United States, Russia, Spain, the Far East, followed by the rest of the world.

In September 2006, ten new vision models will be added and the complete spring/summer 2007 sunglasses collection will be presented in Paris in October.
