Safilo renews its agreement with Petrarca Rugby

The whole Carrera Petrarca Rugby team was presented yesterday and is preparing for the 2006/2007 championships with lots of new entries and great energy.

The presentation took place late afternoon at the 'Memo Geremia' stadium in Padua during an entertaining and lively third half. There was also the Safilo Group which this year renewed the team sponsorship agreement for the fourth season running.
The enjoyable meeting also starred the supporters of Carrera Petrarca Rugby, who gave a kick-start to the upcoming season by toasting the players and wishing them better and better results.

The season began in Rovigo, Saturday, September 9, where they met Italian Benetton Treviso champions on neutral ground.
Compared to the previous season, the team has more born-and-bred Padua players (no fewer than 12 out of 35), and absolute technical prowess from the new outsiders arriving at Guizza. New Zealander Davis has been confirmed and is joined by Argentinean winger Martin Acuna, number 8 Sisa Koyamaibole and fly-half Nicky Little, both from Fiji and fixed members of their country's team, fullback Silao Leaega, who played in the Samoa national team for 19 times.

The choice of playing field is also new: the company has decided that this season's matches will be played at the Plebiscito stadium, whereas some games were played at the 'Centro Geremia' last year.

'We are pleased to continue a collaboration that has been going on for four years now', said Massimiliano Tabacchi, co-managing director of the Safilo Group'.
Safilo has renewed its commitment to supporting the sport and training project for Petrarca, which isn't just a rugby team, but represents an institution for young people and for the entire city of Padua'.

'We're extremely satisfied with this agreement', commented Petrarca Rugby president Fulvio Lorigiola. 'The Safilo Group has reviewed and approved our projects and decided to continue the collaboration. I am pleased that Safilo considers this operation as an important investment for Petrarca, young people and the city of Padua: we're on the same track and share the same objectives'.

The new season has begun and Carrera Petrarca Rugby is still determined to achieve major successes in the upcoming matches.

The season ticket, which includes the Super 10, European Cup and Italy Cup matches, costs 150 euros, single tickets for each match cost 10 euros. The company has also decided to offer free entry for women and the holders of season-tickets for other Padua companies.
