Samsonite Black Label eyewear on home straight

An as yet undisclosed Italian company will produce the eyewear for the Black Label by Samsonite, which should be presented in 2007. The announcement was made in Milano Finanza Fashion by Quentin Mackay, the London designer at the creative helm of the American group, which had billings of 902.9 million dollars in 2005 and expects a 7.1% increase in 2006.

The company that will make the glasses is Italian and the agency that designed the collection of shoes due to be presented October next is also Italian. 'For the brown shoes collection we went to Alberto Del Biondi', Mackay stated the Milan daily. 'The project we are working on now is very accurate and should take leather goods from its current 75% of billings to 50% of turnover. That's why we intend to develop the women's and men's footwear collection with a design that has a strong contemporary-technological appeal and uses first-class materials. We also plan to launch some limited editions alongside a collection of travel bags and writing accessories'.
