Smith at the Tour De France with Ivan Basso

Having gained brilliant results at the Giro d'Italia, Smith, the Safilo Group's sports label, will play a leading role in the 93rd edition of the Tour de France.

The race will commence on Saturday 1st July with a prologue time trial in the city of Strasbourg. Smith will be worn by the leader of the Danish Team Csc, who has twice before been awarded on the Tour de France podium. After winning the Giro d'Italia, Ivan Basso has returned to racing after a month-long absence and is ready to face this new challenge.

Team Csc's Tour de France line-up 2006 will include the following riders: Ivan Basso, Carlos Sastre, Frank Schleck, Jens Voigt, Giovanni Lombardi, Stuart O'grady, Bobby Julich, David Zabriskie and Christian Vande Velde.

The race will commence on Saturday 1st July from Strasbourg and will cross the finishing line in Paris on Sunday 23rd July, after 3.639 kilometers completed in 20 stages.
