Smith star of Giro d'Italia with Basso and Danielson

After the amazing success of the last season, Smith, the sports brand from the Safilo Group, is the star of this year's 89th edition of the Giro d'Italia with Ivan Basso and Tom Danielson.

The Tour arrived in Italy Thursday, May 11 and the fifth stage, the timing for the team on the flat (35 km from Piacenza to Cremona), was won by the Danish team Csc sponsored by Smith Optics and captained by Ivan Basso.

The Discovery Channel team was also competitive and with American Tom Danielson it started slowly, but gained considerable time at the end and came in third.
