Certottica: the end of the 'eyewear style and design' course
A packed counsel chamber at Pieve di Cadore was proof of the huge interest in the 'Eyewear Style and Design' course that ended last Saturday. The initiative was promoted by Certottica and aimed at enhancing the creative skills of Belluno's eyewear technicians, especially those who work for small- and medium-sized companies and need to develop innovative ideas to cope with increasingly tough global competition.
Attracting the attention of the audience was a film made by the students based on the ideas and inspiration provided by 300 hours of training: dynamic editing supported by attractive music and images were proof of the creativity that had developed during the various stages of the course and they effectively conveyed the commitment that students and teachers had devoted to this project.
The wisdom of these training actions - which directly involve companies and are the result of their input at the planning stage - was stressed in the speech by Certottica general director, Luigino Boito: 'I have always been convinced that the considerable expertise of the eyewear technicians who took this course, combined with their desire to enrich their knowledge of the creativity and design sector, is an intelligent and potentially effective combination for the growth of businesses in this sector and in this area'.
The participation of the supporting bodies - Fondazione Cariverona, Comunità Montana del Centro Cadore, Fondazione per l'Università e per l'Alta Cultura in Provincia di Belluno - combined with the presence of individuals who play an important role in education at provincial level, such as Counsellor Daniela Larese Filon, was a positive and encouraging sign for the promoters of the course, given also that the project for the 3rd edition has already been presented to Fondazione Cariverona. The approval of next fall's project is expected in the coming weeks.
