Mido 2007: a parade of famous faces
Midorepresents an occasion for a parade of famous faces from the world of show business, sport and industry, as testimonials or guests for various companies. So, the four days at the new Trade Fair Center of Rho-Pero also represent a parade of various, prominent figures.
The first day was characterized by Formula 1, with the appearance of a big name from the recent past, Alain Prost, who attended Serengeti's press conference for the presentation of his Limited Edition eyewear, and then for an autograph session at the stand. There was also another big name from the world of Formula 1, Giancarlo Fisichella, the testimonial for Exalt Cycle by VidiVici Occhiali, who was a guest on VidiVici's stand.
The same stand had also planned a real show: from Dominic Rubjio and Francesca Di Meo, from the coach and TV columnist Ciccio Graziani, to Ugo Conti.
On the first two days alone, the list of illustrious guests included the face of 'Markette' Magda Gomez (Luxottica stand), one of the leading actors of 'Centrovetrine', Christian Stellati, Patrizia Natek and Valerio Merola (L'Amy stand), Marianna Morandi (Immagine Eyewear stand, which also hosted a concert by the group The Connection), Milan goalkeeper Nelson Dida and the showgirl Eva Henger (Polar stand), Giorgia Surina, the Bluegirl testimonial and TV actress who is currently working on the television serial Ris 4, with the DJ Alex Peroni (Visibilia stand) and the television trio Raffaello Tonon, Katia Pedrotti and Monica Vanali (De Rigo Vision stand).
But when speaking about famous people, we must also include figures from the world of industry. Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, the chairman of Confindustria (the association of Italian industries), and Diego della Valle were at Mido as entrepreneurs to present a new ophthalmic collection at the Web Eyewear stand, in the company of the TV presenter par excellence, Simona Ventura.
Mido also represents a vital moment for the sector, on an international level. It represents an occasion to present new products - Safilo, for example, focused particularly on the shows that were presented on various occasions every day, which were always packed - and also to illustrate current issues and initiatives. The results of research carried out on problems relating to Visual Wellbeing were presented at the Transitions Optical stand, while Assindustria Belluno and Sipao presented the first edition of the Snow Games for opticians at the Press Village.
