Ottica Venturini's Special Tests edition comes to an end

This edition of Ottica Venturini's Special Tests has come to an end. The testers enjoyed an amazing adventure through the three American states of California, Nevada and Utah.

From the beaches of Los Angeles to the canyons in the western films, from the salt lakes to the infinite high-ways: always accompanied by the crucial sunglasses. In some cases with monofocal or multifocal correction. Glasses in California are, above all, a fashion item, in Nevada and Utah they are an essential form of protection, and now for native Americans too.

The UV filter together with the polarization on the infrared filters and blue light made the difference to the standard filters.

The polarization of the lenses was crucial on the long transfer stages when the team took turns at the wheel; in Death Valley and in the Badwater Basin, a depression where glare was particularly troublesome.

The infrared filter proved useful with the high temperatures in Death Valley and Los Angeles, preventing bother and irritating sensations.

The blue light filters were prized for the excellent color definition and therefore for the perception of depth, which was heightened in the canyon area.

Some of the filters were also photochromic, a feature that increases their versatility, especially for the shifts sun-shade, offering high protection in full sunlight and increasing contrast with cloudy skies.

The Porsche Design P8418 models, with their interchangeable lenses, stand out in the test results. These models, with their double pair of lenses, offered good protection on sunny days thanks to the darker lenses, and comfortable filtering for driving at dawn and dusk with the 60% flash lenses.

The Revo 3047 model proved extremely comfortable thanks to the equalization of the light and the capacity to filter annoying frequencies guaranteeing excellent vision in extreme light conditions.

The Serengetis Zina model offered excellent protection, also in elevated light conditions. Thanks to the photochromic technology and the special aluminum based coating of the lens surface.
