Results of 'Il sole per amico' campaign

From June 13 through 16, Bologna was the location of the 'Il sole per amico' (friendly sun) campaign promoted by the Benigno Zaccagnini Institute, Opticians and Optometrists in Bologna and province, Ala Service, Istituto dei Ciechi Cavazza and by the pharmacies in the city of Bologna.

Sponsored by Bologna City Council and the 'Low Vision Academy, the three days dedicated to sun protection aimed at providing adequate information about the dangers of incautious exposure to the sun's rays from a dermatological and ophthalmic point of view. In the City Hall loggia through Saturday, June 16, sector professionals were available to provide citizens with the necessary information with personalized advice and leaflets.

Visitors could also have their lenses' level of quality and UV protection tested on a spectrophotometer or have their skin's level of sensitivity evaluated.

In collaboration with Optovista,Essilor, Transitions and Hoya, the promoters of the initiative published a pleasant and clear booklet, with graphics by ABC Marketing, which illustrates the innovations in vision protection for adults and children in any climate or environment.

Thirty-thousand copies of the booklet were printed and they were also distributed in the waiting rooms of doctors, pediatricians, dermatologists and in specialist opticians' stores throughout the province.

The three-day event was attended by a significant number of people who are increasingly sensitive to the subject of well-being and health.
