Rudy Project protagonist at Giro d'Italia 2007

The Giro d'Italia 2007 has ended and Rudy Project has achieved important new results. The famous Treviso-based company was the official supplier of eyewear and helmets for over a quarter of the cyclists at the ninetieth 'corsa rosa', including Gilberto Simoni and promising new talent Riccardo Riccò on the Saunier Duval, Michael Rasmussen on the Rabobank and Mikhail Ignatiev on the Tinkoff.

Rudy Project took part in the Giro d'Italia 2007 with 60 athletes out of 197 and 43 of them crossed the finishing line. Three Rudy Project champions won three important stages on the Saunier Duval: Leonardo Piepoli, who shot ahead on the Lido di Camaiore-Santa Signora della Guardia stage, Riccardo Riccò, who joined the cycling bigs on the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and Gilberto Simoni, winner of the toughest stage of this 90th Giro d'Ialia on the steepest slope in Europe. Piepoli was awarded the Gran Premio Montagna green jersey and, in the general team classification, Rudy Project came in first on the Saunier Duval.
