Rudy Project triumphs at the Milano-Sanremo

Even in the rain Rudy Project eyewear proves it is the perfect partner for the Rabobank cyclist to win the spring 'Classicissima'.

Champion Oscar Freire, the winner of the Rudy Project team, sprinted across the finishing line with his arms raised at the 100th anniversary of the Milano-Sanremo (98th edition, but first started in 1907).

A champion of sport (already three-times World Champion and the winner of the Milano-Sanremo in 2004), he could not choose anything but first-class equipment, which is why Spain's Oscar Freire wore his Rydon eyewear by Rudy Project for the whole duration of the race. Ultra-light eyewear (only 24 grams), characterized by its streamlined shapes, highly ergonomic frame in Kynetium and red racing lenses, ideal for handling the light, also in bad weather conditions.

The 31 year-old Rabobank racer's Rydon model represented an important competitive advantage in beating his opponents: Indeed, Freire was the only one of the first five winners to wear his eyewear right up until the end.

For the company from Treviso specializing in technical eyewear, 2007 has already proved to be a year packed with important victories. Since January, several of Rudy Project's athletes from all over the world have already collected 23 victories, such as at the Australian championship, the Tour of California and in Taiwan. The cycling season has only just begun and there is great anticipation for Ivan Basso's performance at the 'Giro d'Italia' and the 'Tour de France'.
