Safilo Group sponsors Giotto in Padua exhibition
The
Il Safilo Group is proud to participate as a sponsor in the Giotto in Padua exhibition which will take to Ljubljana a reproduction of the Cappella degli Scrovegni (Scrovegni Chapel) together with six extraordinary original works from 14th-century Padua. Participation in this important project is the expression of the company's wish to contribute to promoting Italy's artistic heritage abroad.
The Safilo Group has always been distinguished by its attention to art and culture. As well as owning the world's largest and most complete private collection of glasses, its most recent iniatives include Italian National Trust Fund (FAI) support for the restoration of Villa dei Vescovi at Luvigliano (Padua) and a contribution to the restoration of the frescoes in the Sala dei Giganti at Palazzo Liviano in Padua.
By sponsoring the Giotto in Padua exhibition, it has created a bridge between two locations that are dear to the company: Padua, the city of the Cappella degli Scrovegni and Safilo's headquarters, and Slovenia, where Ormoz hosts Carrera Optyl, one the Group's main production facilities.
Once again, Safilo is a partner in a prestigious cultural initiative: a commitment aimed at sharing the human and social values which form the basis of efficient company management.
Safilo Group president Vittorio Tabacchi stated: 'I am honored to make this contribution to the creation of the exhibition. The world of culture and art is of particular importance to us given that this passion is also cultivated within the company through the Guglielmo Tabacchi Gallery. We sincerely believe in the success that this event will have in Slovenia, a country which joined the European Union in 2004. We feel very close to a country that is small but has considerable potential, because Ormoz is the site of one of the facilities which produces some of our best and most innovative sports products.'
