14th Sunglass Industry Dinner presented by ESA and SAA

14th Sunglass Industry Dinner presented by ESA and SAA

More than 170 Members of the Sunglass Industry met on May 10th at the 14th Sunglass Industry Dinner. Once again, ESA & SAA invited to their successful Fashion event that already has become a consolidated event during the MIDO Show.

One of the Highlights of this evening was the presentation of the 1st ESA Visionary Awards that had been handed over by ESA President Rod Lane. In the forefront of the event, ESA Members were asked to vote the person and company that has 'made the greatest ever contribution to the global sunglasses business'. Winner of these election were Mr. Joseph Hatchiguian (in the category Person) and Ray Ban (in the category brand/company).

A characteristic of the Fashion Dinner is that the waiting time between the courses is being bridged by a fascinating presentation. This year, the audience was entertained by even two exciting forecast presentations:

The beginning was made by Alexandre Bau, Designer and Material Expert of the Nordic Innovatheque, the largest european resource centre in innovative materials. He transmitted and shared with the audience some cutting edges solutions to express their creativity and values, from their frames, surface treatments, store displays to shops, decorations and tradeshows.

The second presentation was held by world-renowned trend expert Milou Ket, from Milou Ket Styling and Design in the Netherlands. She gave an in-depth look into inspirations for lifestyle and fashion trends for 2009 in order to launch into the future of innovation. In this segment, Milou Ket revealed colours, materials, textures, design and form to inspire future product development.

In summary, ESA and SAA can look back on a very successful evening with a lot of new information and forecasts and are already looking forward to welcome Members of the Sunglass Industry to the 15th Sunglass Industry Dinner.
