Cecop joins Assogruppi Ottica
As part of its growth and consolidation in the Italian market, Cecop has joined Assogruppi Ottica, the National Association of Organized Optics Groups, which has been operating for over six years and now represents 6 of Italy’s major groups of opticians.
The purchasing group of Spanish origin which currently unites over 370 associates in Italy alone, Cecop responded with interest and enthusiasm to Assogruppi’s invitation to join the independent association that was set up to protect the interests of its members and to act as an authoritative interface in its members’ relationships with institutions, political and trade union organizations, the industry and so on, but also to promote the culture of eye care.
Association president Andrea Garagnani made the following comment about Cecop’s entry in Assogruppi: “Cecop is a sound and solid group, which has been demonstrated by its development in Italy, and for some time now it has had a significant presence in terms of the number of its associates and its experience at European level. For this reason it is more than qualified to be a member of the Association and thanks to its contribution, Assogruppi will now be able to represent an ever-growing number of professionals and develop its already significant powers of negotiation. From now onward, the members of the Association will also be members of a group that “represents” 30% of the sector’s billings, an influential interface that producers and institutions cannot ignore.”
Enrico Ferrario, Country Manager at Cecop Italia, also expressed his satisfaction with Cecop’s entry in Assogruppi. He said that the affiliation marks the start of a new stage in the group’s growth also in the Italian market and that thanks to the assistance and support of the main national association of groups in the sector, it will now have new tools for safeguarding the economic interests of its members and for intensifying its work in the sector.
