Certottica: demonstrations of LEP technology potential

Certottica: demonstrations of LEP technology potential

The Research and Development Department at Certottica has developed a new technology called Laser Enhanced Plating or, simply, LEP, which selectively applies precious metals to metal substrates.
LEP is used to decorate eyewear, jewelry and costume jewelry without engraving, which prevents counterfeiting and adds value to the product.

The success of the new technology is due to Certottica’s experienced researchers and a collaboration with Sisma, the Schio-based world leader for the manufacture of laser equipment.

This decorative technique is an important technological leap forward as it reduces times, increases quality and avoids engraving.

The Institute for the Certification of Optical Products invites possible users to find out about this new technology and its potential in practical demonstrations of LEP at Certottica laboratories throughout June 2009
