Emporio Armani official sponsor of 2009 Fina World Championship

Giorgio Armani is pleased to announce that Emporio Armani will be one of the official sponsors of the XIII Fina World Championships in 2009, which will be held July 18 through August 2, 2009. The stylist has designed the official uniforms for the Italian athletes and the members of the Fina committee.

The look created by the stylist specifically for the athletes is in navy blue viscose jersey. The two-button jacket has mirrored lapels and contrasting white piping and is worn with pants with a soft cut and a coulisse on the waist, a navy blue polo shirt in cotton piqué and white sneakers in suede with edging and embroidered logo in blue. The look is completed with Emporio Armani eyewear: injected unisex model EA 9568/S has drop-shaped lenses, slim metal temples and comes in gray/matte black, and unisex model EA 9588/S has squarer lenses and is in beige/cream and black.

At the official opening ceremony at the Marmi Stadium in Rome, Saturday, July 18, at 9.30pm, Federica Pellegrini will present the Italian flag to President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano. For the occasion she will wear a dress from the Giorgio Armani collection.

Giorgio Armani has a long history connected with the world of sport. He has dressed numerous champions and has published ‘Faces of Sport’, a book of unique and exceptional photos of champions and Olympic athletes. The proceeds from the book were donated to the Special Olympics international program .
