IAAD discussions on eyewear theses

IAAD discussions on eyewear theses

For the second consecutive year Paolo Seminara was a member of the Commission of Judges at the Institute of Applied Art and Design (IAAD) in Turin.

And again this year it concerned a discussion by Gabriele Tovaglieri on a degree thesis, the subject of which was the design of goggles for snowboarding.

“It is very important”, Paolo Seminara said, “that young people approach the world of eyewear and investigate themes linked to design and production problems. Through this work, it is possible to convey how much this world is able to offer to those interested in following a path that intersects with fashion. There are, and there will always be, many ideas to be expressed.”

IAAD in Turin has been operating for 30 years in the field of design and training. It is a European institute and an important benchmark because of the quality of the teaching and modern content. IAAD’s mission is to relate the world of production to that of the end user. For students, the study and application of design create a solid basis for handling all aspects of the work.
