Ital-lenti: presentation of new range

The Conference Room in the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Grottammare (Ap) was the location Monday, June 8, of the successful ITAL-LENTI annual convention for opticians in the Marche, Abruzzo and Molise regions, which was well-attended by operators in the sector. Also included was an afternoon CME course for 70 participants. The subject of the meeting was the presentation of Trivex®, Drivewear®, polarized Nu Polar® and NXT® lenses, which are produced at the Belluno company’s facility in the free-form Sky® and Sky Vario monofocal and progressive versions. Important speakers at the meeting contributed to giving a clear overall view of the current possibilities offered by the ophthalmic lens market. The convention was opened by Frederic Lenfranc, PPG Optical Materials & Coatings EMEA, who underscored the characteristics of Trivex®, a polymer with top performance strength, lightness and optical quality.
The numerous applications of this and other materials in the ophthalmic lens sector were widely illustrated also by Lino Barbieri, Territory Sales Manager at Younger Optics Europe, who then focused on polarizing lenses, which are already extensively used in the United States but until now have had only limited distribution on the European market.
The third talk was by Andrea Borzino, Head of Business Development at Intercast S.p.A., the company with which ITAL-LENTI has been collaborating for some time on the production of prescription lenses in NXT® to meet all requirements for vision protection and correction, even in the case of progressive lenses.

ITAL-LENTI consultant Marco Capsoni closed the meeting with an in-depth look at the evolution of SKY® and SKYvario internal progressive lenses, which are among the most innovative on the Italian market due to high levels of personalization and the introduction of a variable inset that guarantees maximum comfort and vision wellbeing by reducing aberration to a minimum. There was significant participation also in the free CME course offered by ITAL-LENTI in the afternoon: the 70 participants received 7 credits in a session dedicated to “Photoprotection and the effect of selective, photochromic and polarized lenses on eyesight function”, given by Professor Francesco Vargellini of the Benigno Zaccagnini Institute of Bologna. It was a day that highlighted the growing collaboration between ITAL-LENTI and the main international companies in the sector to achieve important levels of excellence for the production of increasingly personalized articles that meet the needs of all wearers.
