Ital-lenti presents SKYvario

Ital-lenti presents SKYvario, another step ahead in the personalization of progressive lenses. They are made with an internal progression channel and a variable inset: when the eyes move from looking at something in the distance to something close-by, they tend to converge and this movement makes the progression channel tilt.

Until now, this movement in free-form progressive lenses has had a fixed value of 2.5 mm. With SKYvario the inset can be calculated with variations from 0 to 4 mm.

The primary variable in calculating the inset is the space between the irises for distance vision, peculiar to individual physiognomy: the value of the inset will be directly proportional to this value, therefore the more space there is between the irises the higher the inset value will be.

When reading, everybody holds the page at an average distance that is more or less always the same (use distance) and wears eyeglasses at a certain distance from their eyes (cornea-lens apex distance): to calculate the inset, these data and the power values for distance and addition are processed automatically by Ital-lenti’s software.

Large and comfortable, SKYvario is a progressive lens that is very adaptable and provides immediate vision wellbeing because it complies perfectly to the characteristics of the wearer.
