Jacques Marmet chooses Rudy Project

The high technology applied by Rudy Project eyewear, which has always been synonymous with excellence and total reliability, was the protagonist in another extreme and successful feat. The renowned French optician and mountaineer Jacques Marmet, known for having recently climbed the Seven Summits, the highest mountains of all seven continents, chose the exclusive ImpactRX ophthalmic lenses by Rudy Project to reach the four highest peaks in Nepal.

Before he could reach an altitude of 6,200 m in prohibitive temperatures and with considerable technical problems, Jacques Marmet had to correct his far-sightedness. He found the solution in ImpactRX photochromic lenses, which guaranteed excellent close-up vision for reading maps and instruments, exceptional panoramic vision and also good perception of contrasts for coping with the forests in Asia.

“Rudy Project’s high technology lenses literally conquered me”, Marmet said. He explained: “Without doubt, the strong points of these lenses are the incredible speed at which they adapt to light, and excellent vision quality, both close up and in the distance. There was no distortion, not even at the sides, despite the accentuated curve of the lenses”. He concluded: “When I went into the forest, contrast was very important and indispensable for distinguishing the mountains and taking paths that were full of obstacles”.
