Marcolin in Cannes for DSquared2 line

Marcolin in Cannes for DSquared2 line

It was party time in Cannes May 19 for the launch of the DSquared2 eyewear by Marcolin and the opening of the first monobrand store for the brand designed by Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten.

“We chose the Film Festival because we wanted to create an event that was special and not just the “usual” advertising campaign that may have been impactful, but inevitably similar to that of many other brands” explained Maurizio Marcolin, the Veneto company’s style and license manager. “We also believe that it is essential to built genuine partnerships with the brands we have under license. This is precisely the case with Dean and Dan”.

Marcolin went on, “2009 will be a difficult year for everyone, with a recovery perhaps in the fall. What we can do is to aim for quality, without pursuing growth at all costs. We’ve done this with DSquared2, the license agreement signed in March 2008. We’ve worked on it for over a year and we’ve come to Cannes with a perfect product”.
