New marketing manager for Salmoiraghi & Viganò
Salmoiraghi & Viganò, Italy’s largest optics chain, has appointed Gianni Cossar as its new marketing manager.
Cossar (43) comes from Milan and has spent many years abroad (England, United States, Ireland and Belgium), where he completed his education with an MBA (Trinity College). Subsequently, he acquired professional expertise, mainly in Automotive Aftermarkets, Air-Conditioning and Consumer Electronics in the Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer spheres.
Specifically, between 1996 and 1999 he was the Marketing Manager for the United Kingdom and England at the Merloni Group, where he developed sales of the Ariston brand in England.
In 1999 Cossar joined PPG Industries where he held various international Marketing and Business Development positions in Italy and abroad as part of the Automotive Refinish Business Unit (paints and services for vehicles).
In PPG, Gianni Cossar handled the MaxMeyer brand at European level and the ICI Autocolor brand – acquired by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) – at world level (he also handled the international rebranding project). Cossar was also involved in PPG’s relationship with car manufacturers, insurance companies and leasing companies and developed the aftermarket network of CertifiedFirst coachworks.
In Salmoiraghi & Viganò Cossar will handle Marketing and Business Development initiatives.
“My entry coincides with a new stage in the country-wide development of the Salmoiraghi & Viganò brand”, Gianni Cossar said. “Over the next few months I will be developing customer-oriented innovative projects aimed at consolidating the company’s leadership of the market”.
