October debut for "Milano design-in-the-city"
Stores, culture and entertainment are the watchwords for an event that will involve over fifty design showrooms and outlets, with product previews, cultural happenings and escape activities.
During the “long weekend” organized by Design Partners, the public will be able to visit theme circuits created to show the sector’s latest trends and innovations and meet the protagonists of international design.
The leitmotif of the internal settings, the initiatives and the commercial offers organized by stores and showrooms is “The Shape of Dreams”. “The theme is inspired by a desire to communicate and express the content of design: continual research into improving the quality of life”, explained the organizers of the event which will end with the presentation of an award for the best setting judged by an independent panel. A selection of designer objects from the businesses involved in the event will be the prizes in a competition open to all visitors to “Milano design-in-the-city”.
A varied calendar of events dedicated to innovation and design will involve several of the city’s cultural locations. Designer hotels, spas, bars and restaurants will be the perfect locations for entertaining and welcoming visitors: “... meeting and information points will be organized in strategic positions. In agreement with Milan City Council, a campaign to raise awareness about using public transport will also begin. Precise maps and widespread, comprehensive on- and off-line information will enable visitors to choose and program routes on the basis of personal interests and to enjoy the welcome that designer Milan offers” the event organizers said.
