Optigen sets up toll-free number against counterfeiting

With the collaboration of its partners – Safilo, Centro Style, Salmoiraghi & Viganó, Solution, Damiani Occhiali, Ladies & Gentlemen – Optigen Patented Technologies has set up a toll-free number against counterfeiting: 800 912 945.

The initiative aims to protect its international patents for making special “memory” frames in titanium alloy and to safeguard the vision wellbeing of the final consumer. Opticians and optometrists are frequently misled by unscrupulous operators who propose counterfeit products, mainly from Asian markets, which are a health hazard. In many cases, these products do not observe the quality requirements (non-allergic, flexible strength, the use of biomedical materials...) of the original Optigen Patented Technologies patent confirmed by tests carried out by the National Research Council (CNR).

Solution Srl of San Vittore Olona (Milan) has been given the task of managing the nation-wide toll-free number and give operators in the eyewear industry advice if they have any doubts about the conformity of the products proposed to them.
The initiative is supported by Federottica – the National Federation of Opticians and Optometrists.
