Tabacchi: "Rome, an occasion for meeting and doing business"
"It’s an interesting opportunity to meet and do business at a particular time for the global economy". This is how Vittorio Tabacchi, President of Anfao and Mido, sees the Vision Business Forum, the appointment organized by Assogruppi Ottica in collaboration with Mido and due to take place at the Cavalieri Hilton’s Conference Center in Rome September 6 and 7.
In this short interview, Tabacchi described what he considered to be the significance of the appointment in Rome.
"It is a very important appointment, an interesting moment when the main players in our sector will meet. The point is that companies are present where there is a market: the Vision Business Forum provides a new opportunity to get together and, as the name itself implies, to do business. But that’s not all: it is also a great occasion to meet and to discuss the unfavorable economic situation in which we all find ourselves, to talk about the market and weigh up possible solutions".
How many Anfao associates will take part in the two days in Rome?
“At the moment, over sixty companies have been confirmed by Assogruppi and of these 35 are part of Anfao. There will be numerous lens producers who are particularly interested in the Italian market and also many small- and medium-sized enterprises which make frames and do not yet have their own organized distribution in the country; they see the Vision Business Forum as being an excellent chance to increase their visibility in the entire optics panorama.”
What are the characteristics of the Vision Business Forum?
“Vision Business Forum is a new and innovative formula for market presentation, it is an exhibition and conference with a display area, workshop, in-depth analysis sessions and scientific courses. As I already emphasized, the two days will focus on debates and meetings with the sector’s main players. We believe that this appointment will enrich the Italian scene and, because of its specific nature, it will be synergic with Mido.
The effects of the crisis are still being felt. Do you thing that innovative ideas will emerge from the Rome appointment? "It’s what we are all hoping for. This is precisely the reason we are all counting so much on this appointment. I hope it will convey a message of optimism and provide the drive that will lead us out of the particular economic situation we are experiencing”.
