Ital-lenti presents Extesa
Free form technology has important applications not only in the field of internal progressive lenses; it is also being increasingly used for producing monofocal lenses in a process that eliminates the distortion of the oblique segments of the lens surface due to astigmatism.
Its knowledge about free form progressive lenses has enabled Ital-lenti to present Extesa, the new atoric monofocal lens with an internal aspherical curve that allows optical distortions in the external areas of the lens to be controlled and drastically reduced with optimum solutions also for ametropia. Compared to regular monofocal lenses, where vision comfort in the peripheral areas is considerably reduced due to the high dioptric power or curve of the lens, Extesa lenses eliminate this problem: all-over vision is improved thanks to prism compensation in the peripheral areas: distortion is reduced and lens design is wider.
Extesa by Ital-lenti is available also in the Transitions VI photochromic version in gray and brown, with refraction indices of 1.67 1.60 and 1.53; the “white” version is available also with a refraction of 1.74.
