Learning with Ciba Vision
Created by Ciba Vision in 2008, the Academy for Eyecare Excellence centers throughout the world provide specialists in the optical sector with refresher courses on the most recent clinical aspects of contact lenses and maintenance solutions to help them fine-tune their skills and communicate effectively with their clients by meeting specific needs and lifestyles.
The CIBA VISION Academy for Eyecare Excellence in Italy is located at the Città Studi Biella University. The following are details of the clinical and business activities for 2010:
Professional Academy
The courses aim to provide the most updated information on clinical and application techniques with regard to contact lenses and their maintenance. Lectures are given by academics and clinicians expert in the sector and their purpose is to help opticians and contactologists to provide excellent services for clients and the best possible sight correction meeting their needs in terms of vision and health while giving due consideration to lifestyles. The courses are CME accredited.
Business Academy
In collaboration with the SDA Bocconi School of Management, CIBA VISION has set up the unique and exclusive program Eye Care with a Managerial Passion, which gives a comprehensive picture of corporate managerial techniques. The purpose of the program is to develop the managerial capabilities of outlet owners through professional growth for achieving the objectives of success.
Staff Support Academy
A program aimed at training support staff working with sector specialists. In fact, a suitably trained and prepared team can increase efficiency in terms of performance, profitability, the outcome of meetings with patients and their satisfaction.
Student Academy
Convinced that supporting the future of the profession is one of the most important services that can be made available for the optometry community, CIBA VISION has developed training courses devoted to students of optics and final-year optometry students.
The training and refresher courses at the Academy for Eyecare Excellence in Città Studi Biella will continue through November 2010. The University is also a reference point for training at European level: during the summer term it will host delegations of course participants from abroad.
