Rem and Mondottica announced thir partnership in Europe
REM Eyewear and Mondottica International are pleased to announce their new partnership in Europe. This partnership will give a significant boost to the distribution of Converse in selected European markets, by combining the strong appeal of the Converse brand with Mondottica’s well established distribution network in Europe.
Converse eyewear, now in its 22nd year under the leadership of US-based REM Eyewear, will soon be distributed by a new joint venture in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and Spain. The new partnership brings together REM with UK-based Mondottica to form a new company, Remdottica Ltd, which will be based in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Both companies have operations in Hong Kong, where they will collaborate on design and production.
“Converse is one of the hottest brands in Europe and around the world,” explains Mike Hundert, REM’s Chief Executive. “This joint venture will provide far greater access to our unique frames and sunglasses for the loyal Converse fan base in the European Community. Mondottica is a highly respected eyewear supplier in the markets we are targeting and therefore an ideal partner.”
Michael Jardine, Founder of Mondottica, added “We are thrilled to have an opportunity to work with a name that has the brand equity of Converse, as well as to build a new business with our friends at REM. We take pride in our creativity and this extends far beyond the creation of branded collections, even to solutions for customer service and distribution itself”.
REM will continue to distribute its other brands through Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, from its Sun Valley, California US facility as well as a new distribution platform in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Those brands include John Varvatos, Lucky Brand and Cosmopolitan.
