Vanni in the chair
At the start of academic year 2009/2010, the collaboration between VANNI occhiali and the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) of Turin took the form of eyewear design specialization lessons which are part of the three-year post-diploma course in Jewelry and Accessory Design.
Aimed at training Turin students to design eyewear, the six-month course included product and style theory and practical lessons on prescription frame design. The undertaking by architect Irene Chinaglia, head of the Vanni style center, led to a successful encounter between the creativity of the company of Piedmont and the energy of young talents at the design training school.
For second year students who took part in the lessons, the final project and subject of curricular assessment was the creation of a collection of vision eyewear inspired by the Vanni world. Prototypes will be prepared and presented to the public at international exhibitions in the next fall.
