
Brazilian expansion for Sunglass Hut
Luxottica has announced the upcoming opening of new Sunglass Hut outlets in Brazil aimed at getting a foothold in one of the most strategically important markets for retail.
The first Brazilian store in Rio de Janeiro is located in the Fashion Mall, one of the city’s main attractions for aficionados of fashion and luxury shopping.
This strategy marks the start of Luxottica sales of sunglasses in Brazil, a country with excellent growth potential where the Group can already boast consolidated business in the wholesale sector. The decision also follows the recent agreement for the acquisition of two retail chains specializing in the sun eyewear sector in Mexico, and confirms the Group’s strategy of developing a retail platform for the sun segment in Central and Latin America: it involves emerging countries and, more generally, the “sun belt”, one of the essential pillars that support Sunglass Hut development.
