Certification for Custom-6 eyewear by Fovs

Made entirely from carbon fiber, Custom-6 eyewear passed all the tests carried out by Certottica, the Italian Institute for the Certification of Optical Products, with flying colors.
The technical documentation and the declaration of conformity are issued only after precise and meticulous mechanical and optical tests.

For prescription frames, specific tests were performed such as stability at high temperatures, allergologic tests, resistance to perspiration and deformation tests, and lens grip capability. Sunglasses also underwent optical tests on the quality of the sun filter material and resistance to radiation.

Fovs, a company that has been operating in the heart of the Dolomites since 1966, is completely satisfied with the positive outcome of the tests and proud to be the first to create and produce eyewear in carbon fiber.
The result of 7 years of research, Custom-6 philosophy is based on carbon as the material of the future applied to eyewear.

Thanks to research into technology and design, Fovs has been able to overcome initial problems with rigidity and weaving of the carbon fiber. It has achieved excellent results for the manufacture of all the eyewear components from the front piece to the temples and has developed countless shapes.

The starting off point for the development of each model is pure carbon fabric layered with special resins that make it flexible, lightweight, strong and highly performing. The material’s characteristic weave and natural beauty remain intact to create aesthetically unmistakable sun and vision models.

To guarantee maximum adaptability to everyone’s needs and perfect fit for all face shapes, an adjustable end piece has been added, available on request as an accessory for all models.

Also used for the frames is the world patent In & Out, a revolutionary rim closure system with no screws. It also adds an element of color by means of soft rubber inserts in the nose piece, end pieces and rim closure.
