ESA: annual meeting in Pisa
Due to begin tomorrow are the two days devoted to sunglasses organized by ESA for members and non-members alike. This year the meeting with leading experts on the subject of sunglasses is at the Green Park Resort in Pisa.
Present at the meeting and available to provide information and advice will be all the Members of the Board: Francesco Pellegrini (PPG Intercast), Alexandre Asseraf (Essilor), Eric Boinard (Polaroid), Rod Lane (Fabris Lane), Hervé Meillat (Christian Dalloz), Petra Eckhard (ESA) and Martijn van Erde (Maui Jim).
Those taking turns at the speakers’ table during the two days of the conference will include the RealD Global Sales Manager for updates on new sector developments in the light of the rapid progress of 3D technology and its current application in sunglasses.
The CEO of Shamir Portugal, a company that manufactures progressive lenses and molds for lenses, will give an overview of the graduated sun lenses market, its growth despite the recent crisis, and forecasts for the future.
Giuseppe Falconio, International Key Account Manager at the market research institute, GFK, will update participants on the new data available to provide a grounding on market information and statistics that will facilitate commercial decisions.
The founder and director of FittingBox will describe how e-commerce and social media roles are gaining ground with increasing rapidity and are bringing about changes also in the sunglasses industry. He will take an in-depth look at “virtual trial” and “360-degree visualization”, two of the most successful online strategies.
