Made in Itly Eyewear ready to captivate Dubai
Anfao, the Italian Association of Optical Goods Manufacturers, continues to back global promotion and confirms its presence at international trade exhibitions. Scheduled appointments include participation with a group of 13 companies in Vision X in Dubai May 24 through 26, 2011.
Taking part in the most important exhibition of the Middle East’s optical sector is one of the tangible stages in ANFAO’s internationalization plan for supporting the Italian eyewear industry. The program for promoting Italian companies is an essential tool for acquiring new and interesting markets like the Middle East, where growth is reaching significant levels.

«We have been taking part in Vision X for many years», commented Paolo Cannicci, Vice President of ANFAO and President of the Internationalization Commission. «In previous years, we had the support of ICE (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade), but this year it preferred to promote other markets, so we decided to go ahead independently given that the Middle East and Dubai continue to be very interesting markets. Although initially they felt the effects of the recession, we believe they will demonstrate their ability to recover». Internationalization has always been a fundamental value for Italian eyewear companies and over the years it has enabled them to be successful and gain the interest of buyers all over the world. «It is important for our companies to be open to potential markets that are also the most promising», Paolo Cannicci underscored.
It is for these reasons that thirteen companies representing Made in Italy eyewear will be at the area’s most important exhibition devoted to eyewear.
Many of the ANFAO member companies at Dubai will also be targeting the Middle East as a profitable outlet for their products. Luca Ricci at Look Occhiali is expecting the continuation of the positive trend seen at Mido: «We are confident in the market’s positive response because our products are highly thought of in this part of the world». Roberto Testolini at Fedon expects to widen his circle of clients in this geographical area and to consolidate existing commercial relationships, while Nadia Zampol at Martini Occhiali hopes to find a local distributor for creations «enriched with precious details like Swarovski crystals, which are in great demand in Arab countries».
The aim of the group at Vision X is to give people a hands-on experience of the quality of their products, the excellence of which is recognized all over the world. A record achieved through considerable work into researching and innovating shapes and colors, experimenting with materials, and studying the most recent trends. These are all essential elements for attracting foreign markets that are always seeking unique products, markets that are the most appreciative of Made in Italy segments like eyewear because of the added value that makes them incomparable.
