Mido announces dates of next edition
The 42nd edition of Mido, the International Optical, Optometry and Ophthalmology Exhibition and the main international event dedicated to the sector will take place Sunday 11, Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 March 2012.
«Dates on the calendar that introduce the important change of two weekdays for the event», stated Vice President Delegate of Mido Cirillo Marcolin.
To meet the wishes of the many exhibitors and visitors who said they would like the days of the exhibition to be changed, in recent weeks Mido organizers have been working on finding a solution that would satisfy everyone.
«The definition of the dates for Mido 2012 is the result of dialogue and negotiation to meet the often different requests and availability of players such as Fieramilano, the other exhibitions hosted at the center in Rho-Pero, Mido exhibiting companies, as well as the opinions of visitors from Italy and abroad.» Marcolin explained.
«We came up with what we think is a very good answer: two of the three days of Mido are on consecutive days when many Italian opticians are not working.» Marcolin pointed out. «Sunday and then Monday, a day on which stores are closed in many regions of Italy and in some other European countries. We think that this will meet the needs of our reference public and will help its decision to visit our exhibition.
«We are confident that these considerations will please many of our stakeholders and fulfill our main mission of organizing an event at the service of the sector in terms of business and communication.» Marcolin concluded.
It was for this reason that, unlike previous years, the date of the next edition of Mido was announced after the exhibition ended. Overcrowding of the exhibition center during the first weekend of March 2012 persuaded the organizers to explore all avenues to find the best solution for the exhibition’s protagonists: exhibitors and visitors.
At the last edition, which ended just over a month ago, Mido’s results were good in terms of numbers, the overall quality of the exhibits, and response by visitors. Confirmed as the most important exhibition in the sector for comprehensiveness, international range of action and competent participation by all major players and new companies entering the market, Mido intends to continue to be an unmissable event for all operators in the eyewear industry.
