With the new PhotoFusion® lenses Zeiss researchers have made a decisive leap ahead in the development of self-tinting lenses: compared to previous versions, these lenses react faster to variations in light conditions, thus living up to the expectations of customers throughout the world.

Zeiss PhotoFusion® lenses react 20% faster than previous versions of Carl Zeiss Vision photochromic lenses. The reaction speed of the new lenses is high enough to allow comfortable vision in all light conditions. They are particularly clear indoors (92% transparency with antireflection treatment) and become very dark in sunlight (11% transparency with antireflection treatment). The lenses give 100% UV protection up to 400 nm and excellent color stability for natural vision. They also retain their self-tinting ability for a long time.

The innovative PhotoFusion® technology is based on the reaction of patented photoactive molecules that expand when exposed to ultraviolet light and darken the lenses to protect the eyes. Together with the award-winning quality of Carl Zeiss Vision lenses, this technology is a significant improvement of the operating principle of ophthalmic photochromic lenses.
