Rome, June 20-12 - annual meeting of Eurom I
EUROM I – the European Federation of Precision Mechanical and Optical Industries - will hold its annual Meeting in Rome on June 20.
Founded in Brussels in 1958, the Federation represents the interests of precision mechanical and optical industries at the European Commission and at other European, national and international institutes. During the two days of the Meeting, subjects of importance to the segment will be discussed: from market trends to possible communication campaigns for promoting eyesight protection and care, from national and international regulations to the burden of counterfeiting, from the care of children’s eyesight to the important subject of safe driving.
The annual Meeting is a major occasion for discussing activities in various European countries with the aim of increasing knowledge about the markets and their problems, examining European Community regulations, and agreeing on mutual communication and prevention actions.
Guests will include the Vision Council of America, the sector Association in the United States, which will compare its own experiences with those of the Old Continent in order to share plans and strategies and agree on collaborations.
Appointed head of EUROM I one year ago, President Vittorio Tabacchi actively encourages meetings and the exchange of ideas by taking every opportunity to promote them within the Federation and, therefore, at European level, and by maintaining continuous contact with the associations in other continents.
The main objectives of the Federation include: ever-increasing representation in European institutes by collaborating with the relevant persons in the European Commission and Parliament. For many years, EUROM I has had a profitable working relationship with Vision Council of America and the European Council of Optometry and Optics, both of which have invited EUROM I to take part in their next conference, and with ESA, the European Sunglass Association.
