“Safe Driving” for OA Group
Road safety and eyesight is a very important subject that has come up many times and is attracting a lot of attention. This same subject was pursued by the OA Group and ACI (Italian automobile association) Genoa with the creation of a prevention campaign titled “Good eyesight for driving safely” together with the competition “I see well, I drive better” that closed May 9 on “Safe Driving” day at the Castelletto di Branduzzo racetrack.
Participants were involved in a course about the basics of driving safely given by the well-known school Driveincentive Aci Genova. The day was divided between theory and practice during which participants underwent numerous tests in equipped areas.
OA Group CEO Carlo Vannucci said: “I found this course extremely stimulating and I was impressed by certain concepts explained in the theoretical part, which then became the fundamental elements of the day. The knowledge acquired in the classroom was put into practice on the track. To all effects and purposes, it is a course for raising the awareness of drivers about driving behavior and safety. It is a complete experience also about prevention” Vannucci continued “with special attention to safety and knowing your limits. This day is also linked to the prevention campaign by Ottici Associati and the Automobile Club of Genoa, “I see well, I drive better”, which talks about safety, attention and eyesight, components that are reconsidered and put into practice during this course. We must continue to create a safety culture in the same way as ACI of Genoa has done and continues to do”.
Because of the success of the first edition of the campaign, the Automobile Club of Genoa is already working on its second edition, which will have a packed calendar of eyesight screenings during May and June at the ACI delegations throughout Liguria, where ACI members can test their eyesight from behind the wheel.
